Updating this for 09 since the old thread is from 07 and half those places closed.
Post the spot, the hourly, and whether the engineer knows what hes doing. That last part matters more than the price and everybody forgets it.

theres a dude on the eastside doing $20/hr but you gotta bring your own mic cable and he only does nights

cheap engineer that doesnt know what hes doing costs you more than expensive one that does. learned that the hard way twice
if it aint on tape it didnt happen
