Recap: "Naptown Takeover Vol. 3" Went 600 Deep At The Skyline Lounge
They cut the line off at 11:30 and there were still people on the sidewalk at midnight.
Six hundred through the door, nine performances, and a 38th Street Mob set that had the floor moving hard enough that the sound guy pulled the levels twice — not for volume, for the floor. Somebody should probably look at that floor.
The Sets
Lady Prime opened, which was a scheduling decision somebody is going to have to answer for, because the room never got louder than it was at 9:15. Big Tez closed and brought out a guest we were asked not to name until the announcement, which has since happened, so: it was nobody surprising, and the crowd lost it anyway.
Nine acts, zero technical failures, one endangered floor.
Photos
Eighty-four photos in the gallery. I shot all of them badly because I was also running sound for two of the sets, which is my own fault and I have been told about it.
Vol. 4 is August 15 at the same room. Get there before 10.
